To Meet Frank

Hello Friends!

Welcome to my blog. My name is Francesca but everyone has always called me some version of Frank. I started this blog to encourage myself to do more of the things I want to do and stop just thinking about doing them. Basically, I am striving to be a better version of myself and this is my place to document the process. I talk more about that here.

I like to do a variety of things, mostly of the craft variety. I keep a pretty nice garden with a variety of veggies and I like to cook and share my recipes here. I also really enjoy television, some of my favorite shows include: Glee, True Blood, Boardwalk Empire, Up All Night, Madmen, and The Big Bang Theory.  I’m a big fan of books as well. You can read about what I read this summer, here, here, and here.

I’m in my twenties but currently still living with my parents in The Garden State. I’m not really a fan of living at home, but I tolerate it so I can save money. I worked at daycare for two years and loved the kids, but the politics, parents, and teachers were not my cup of tea so I switched it up and am currently holding a gig as an “Executive Administrative Assistant.” Essentially, I’m the boss’s secretary at a small company where I do a multitude of things. I like it but I dream about being an English Teacher one day.

I love learning new things, eating ice-cream and baked goods, and spending time with my maltese-chihuahua mix Tex, my crazy family, and my boyfriend Jon. I am always excited to meet new people so please say hello!

Thanks for stopping by my blog, I hope you’ll be come back to visit!

  1. you are a precious and talented young woman with lots of heart and loved by many.text will need me in nc to keep him company cause i think in the afternoon his little paws will get too hot on the beach.

  2. Frankie! Thanks for stopping by my blog, which prompted me to stop by yours. I think we have a lot in common; can’t wait to read more of your adventures in this space! I’m on a similar journey of self improvement and determination :)

  3. Thanks for commenting on my {this moment}! I’m currently in graduate school studying English with focuses in Composition & Rhetoric and Professional Writing. If you have questions about getting started towards teaching English or graduate work in the area, feel free to e-mail me. :)

  4. Hi Frankie,

After reading your “About Me,” I thought I’d let you know I started out as an administrative assistant (at the time my title was “secretary” – ugh) at a newspaper, and stuck with it, eventually doing some writing and reporting. Don’t give up your dream to be a teacher!

  5. Ahhhh, yes. Still living at home…I feel your pain. As a fellow Garden Stater, the flippin’ ridiculous cost of living in NJ combined with a job that totally doesn’t understand the aforementioned ridiculous cost of living is what keeps me in my parent’s casa. I guess we just have to hang in there :)

  6. I stumbles upon your blog firstly, because you posted about your grandma and thats awesome, and secondly bc I saw DIY, and I am a huge fan of DIY activities for the reason you listed above. To stop thinking about doing things and just do them. I recently started a blog of a variety of things and love it! I am glad I came across your blog!

  7. I was looking at your blog and felt I was looking at myself. I would like to think of myself as an artist however I haven’t yet found my ‘art’. I love to write, bake, make and click pictures. More or less the same things you doing here. All the best for the journey of self discovery, I will be following you from here on.

  8. Hi Frank! I like the way you have presented yourself here. I feel like you are a warm-hearted person with sweet and generous emotions. Would like to visit your blogs often. :)

  9. It was the post about your grandma that brought me here. I had a grandmother once who embody grandmotherhood as yours does now. Treasure these times with her, I know I treasured mine and miss them more with each passing day. It seemed in this life the only one that truly got me was she.

  10. I was about to say almost the same thing as above. Wonderful stories. It warms my heart to know that there are so many people out there writing, doing, and living to better themselves and the world around them. =)

  11. haha I love the big bang theory and glee too!! and I admire your quest to improve yourself. *pats on back*

You’re such a craftsy person, I love it! Keep at it and I hope you get to fulfill your dream soon, I’m sure you’ll be a great inspiration to all the kids you teach!

and again thanks for the well appreciated comment to my site.

  13. Love. this. blog! I’m new to the blogging world and was looking around at others to see what could be done and I stumbled upon yours! And I love it! All the things I love: crafting, gardening, cooking… and now I want to learn to knit!! I want to make one of those super cute cowls!! Did you ever find the pattern? Thanks for inspiring!!

  14. Well I’m not sure why I’m posting here but I read your garden ‘stuff’……..
I cant grow a darn radish if I wanted to and they are pretty much take care of themselves. I really wanted white ones but they were all tops no roots, same with the red. I live in Olympia Washington. My soil is garden mix from a mushroom factory and chicken compost that is aged just right. I have tested my soil and the ph is 7.2 and the fertilizer read is correct.
I thought it was the seed but I had the same results for two years and dif seeds.
I guess I cant grow radishes but everything else thrives.
Let us know how this year goes and I will try to post back about our area.
    Great blog…

  15. Wow … I love all those TV shows … except True Blood. Tried to watch that for awhile…got a bit gruesome for me…my daughter said if I could just get thru the first episodes I’d love it….I guess I just kept wanting more Twilight.

    • It does get a bit gruesome at points, but I usually just look away. Surprisingly it doesn’t bother me, which is ironic considering I had to stop watching 24 because of all the torture scenes.

  16. Yay! Frank = best name ever! It’s my baby boy’s name, so I love any version of it, male or female. Also…..what a delightful little blog this is. I am glad I stopped by :)

  17. Always enjoying your beautiful site, and now I am letting you know that I have nominated you for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award. Details of this award can be viewed on my site. Thanks for all the inspiration.

I cherish all my comments! Thanks for stopping by.
