Friday’s Letters

Dear Weekend, I’m so glad you’re here! You’re gonna be super fun.

Dear Cassa, It’s going to be so awesome to see you tomorrow. Get ready to grill some pizza!

Dear Garden, You are doing so well, but I really can’t wait until you start to look more like the photo below. I’m ready to eat some garden tomatoes!

Dear Dad, I hope you know how much we love and admire you. Cass and I will try to make this father’s day special for you.

Dear Surge of Creative Energy, you came out of nowhere but please feel free to stick around for the rest of the summer.

Dear Friends, I’m trying to a create a summer reading list for myself and it’s already too long but I’d still love some good recommendations.

Dear Dunkin Donuts, Please stop making coffee rolls. This will really help with my overall health. Thanks.

Dear Jennifer Lawrence, If I had known you were Mystique in X-Men First Class, I would’ve made sure to watch it sooner. I really enjoyed it. And you’re gonna be in another X-Men movie, how exciting.

Fridays Letters

Dear boyfriend, It’s been exactly 96 days since I last saw you, and I feel like I’ve forgotten what you look like (I haven’t). I couldn’t be more excited that you’re coming home tonight, 9 days early! I know you’re leaving again on Tuesday, but spending three days with you will make me so happy.

Dear Weather, thanks for being awesome this morning. Keep it up through the weekend please.

Dear Blog, you are going to undergo some major rennovations in the next few weeks and I’m so excited about it.

Dear Kira, thanks for chatting with me last night, even if we were both having internet/computer issues. I appreciate all your awesome advice. You made the blog improvements seem possible.

Dear Garden, Spending my afternoons checking on the status of everything growing is my favorite past time. Thank you.

Dear Ben and Jerry’s Blueberry Graham Cracker Greek Yogurt, You make it seem healthy that I eat two pints of you a week, when I’m pretty sure it’s not ok. Stop being so delicious.

Dear Summer 2012, You’re already pretty neat, but I know you’re only going to get better..

Dear Tex, You make me laugh every time you bark at the door bells ringing on television. For the millionth time, it’s just the tv!

A Special Letter to My Brother on His Birthday

Dear Big Brother,

Today is your birthday. Your secret worry about aging is apparent in your constantly mentioning how close you are to 30, but I know you have nothing to worry about. After all you’re a lot like cheese, a little smelly, but better as you age.

I’ve always admired you. Since the first 15 months of my life, when I sat on my baby bum not needing to learn to walk, content just watching you run and play and joke and laugh, you’ve always been able to entertain me; you’ve always had a knack for entertaining our entire family. No one could make Grandma laugh like you could. It was infectious, when you were your goofy self, doing any and everything in attempt to make her laugh, everyone would look up and watch, and you’d make laughter catch and spread like wild fire.

But you are so much more than the provider of family entertainment. You have a deep thoughtful side made all the more awesome because of the rarity in which you present it. You have this unique ability to advise without pompous judgement, to subtly point me or others in the direction we weren’t aware we wanted to go. The way you care for each of your family members, with your unique, steady, peaceful, but powerful love. Your method of caring, is perhaps the thing I love most about you.

And yet it’s hard to choose just one character trait as my favorite when there are so many things to love about you. Your smile, your consistent quest for knowledge (not just for facts but for how your loved ones feel), your fierce love for all animals but especially dogs, your intelligent thoughtfulness, your not-quite-but-almost narcissism, your self-control, your desire to be as healthy as possible so you can continue to live your life with your arms wide open- the way you always have.

It’s your birthday today. So I’ve seized the opportunity to tell you and my small corner of the internet, about how lucky I am not to have big brother like you, but to have you specifically as my big brother and dear friend. There is no one else in the world like you, Erik. You are wonderfully special and I love you immensely. Happy Birthday.

Love,

Frankie

Friday Letters

Dear Three Day Weekend,  I am SO HAPPY you’re here. I can’t wait to curl up with a good book, shop some sales, and bake a certain brother a birthday cake.

Dear JCrew, Please stop sending me promotional emails. I did not need to know that I got an extra 30% off sale items, because I most definitely did not need to purchase THREE new bathing suit tops.

Dear All Old Jeans, Be prepared to be made into something new and fun over the next few weeks. I have some fun plans for you!

Dear Birthday Brother, When you said, “If you can pull it off” about baking you a Reese’s Cake, I took that as challenge.

Dear Articipate, I’ve been working on my Memorial challenge a little bit every night. I guess you really have achieved your purpose of getting me to create.

Dear Cheese, You are delicious, but I ate way too much of you last night and now I’m ridiculously bloated. Um Thanks.

Dear Kindle, You’ve created a monster. I now gave myself a monthly budget for books. I wish it wasn’t necessary but it so is.

Dear Glee, I was quite pleased with how you ended this season. Watching Finn and Rachel get married immediately after graduation would’ve been too much for me.

Dear Dad, Thanks for being my garden buddy. I love the time we spend checking on the garden’s progress every night, even if you told me weeding today was mandatory.

Dear Friends, Have an incredibly happy and wonderful Memorial Day weekend!

Fridays Letters

Oh beautiful Radishes, you are one of the coolest veggies to grow and eat. You’re also quite pretty to photograph. Let’s continue to be good friends.

Dear Crazy, Crazy, Weather, you’ve been all over the place this week. How about let’s stick to the beautiful sunny skies and warm breezes you’re exhibiting this morning? K, thanks.

Dear Far-Away Wisconsin, You’ve had my boyfriend long enough, please return him to me at your earliest convenience.

Dearest Summer 2012, I am so excited for your arrival. I have a feeling you’re going to be chock-full of amazing things. I particularly look forward to fire pits, sand between my toes, and visiting some of my favorite people.

Dear recently planted string bean, soy bean, zucchini, pepper, cucumber, and okra seeds, I can hardly wait for you to sprout! Please please show up this weekend, it’d make me really happy.

Dear “The Vow,” Tonight, I am shamelessly taking my parent’s going to the Yankee game, as an opportunity to watch you On Demand. I hope you’re just the chick flick I’ve been craving all week.

Dear Yankees, Please win tonight’s game. It would make my dad very happy, as you’ve been doing pretty poorly as of late. Also, see you Sunday.

Dear Creative and Not-so-creative friends, I hope you’ll join Rose and I on our Articipate journey. It’s about the good feelings that creating brings to our lives, and we’d love to share the goodness with you all. If you’re so inclined, you could tell your friends about it too. We’ll announce our first inspiration word this Monday!

Friday Letters

Dear Autumn, Can you please just be friends with Tony already? I’m getting really tired of Tex playing referee and barking at you both whenever you fight. Get over yourself… Tony’s really nice and he just wants to be your friend.

Dear Tony, If you left Autumn alone for a bit, maybe she’d come around. Also, you make my day when you greet me at the door alongside Tex. You too are the cutest.

Dear Tex, how do you feel about becoming a vegetarian? I don’t know if I can consciously allow you to eat meat anymore…

Dear Parents, I know you think I’m crazy with my pro-vegetarian conversations lately, but you still need to read Eating Animals.

Dear Rain, Thanks for staying away last weekend so my friend’s wedding was sunny. Also, thanks for watering my garden so much on Sunday and Monday, so I didn’t have to worry about it all week. I appreciate you.

Dear Cassie, Mom and I are coming to see you tomorrow. I hope you don’t mind that I’m hanging out with Jessi instead of shopping with you and mom. By the way, you looked mighty pretty in the dress I let you borrow for the wedding…

Dear Jessi, I hope we have enough time to go to the Aquarium. I think we’d have a blast.

Dear Traffic, Please sleep until past 11 tomorrow. It is the weekend after all.

Dear Blog Friends, I hope you all of your weekends are whatever you need them to be.

Happy Friday!

Friday’s Letters

Dear Earth, I try to appreciate you every day but since it’s your day on Sunday, I am going to make an extra effort this weekend.

Dear Dandelions, I think you are amazingly whimsical. I actually like that our lawn is more you than grass.

Dear Camera, I’m kind of annoyed at your inability to focus on the dandelion seeds as they scattered when I blew them in conjunction with the self timer. I know it was more me than you but I’m still a bit annoyed.

Dear Tex, I really wish you understood me when I said “Blow the dandelion.” If you had, then maybe I’d have been able to get the photograph I wanted. Also, you’re lucky so you’re so cute.

Dear Shellby, Thanks for encouraging me to power through making my card yesterday during our two and a half hour skype chat. I probably would’ve given up on it otherwise.

Dear Instagram, Thank you for being on my droid. I am addicted to your awesomeness.

Dear Friends, If you want to share my instagram addiction, my user name is tobefrankie. Be prepared for lots of pet and food photos. Oh and thank you for being awesome and leaving such sweet comments about the dress I made

Dear Boyfriend, I miss you. A lot. We’re only halfway through this three month period of not seeing eachother, and June can’t come fast enough.

Dear Rain, Please be nice to my friend getting married tomorrow, and hold off until Sunday.

Dear New Ruche Dress, I cheated on you and tried on another dress at Macys. While I’m still thinking I should go back and buy her, I’m still excited to wear you tomorrow.

Dear Friday Favorites, I felt like a change today, so I’m doing this Friday Letters post instead. I kind of like it so I’m not even sorry.
